Output characteristics and countermeasures for high-reflective materials.

A detailed explanation of output characteristics and countermeasures for high-reflective materials!

Traditionally, it was essential to tilt the processing head to prevent reflected light from returning to the oscillator. With our "UW-S Fiber Laser Welding Machine," we have achieved stable processing unaffected by reflected light by using an oscillator equipped with technology to suppress this reflected light, allowing direct irradiation on highly reflective materials. As a result of comparative verification of output stability, we concluded that the oscillator with reflected light suppression technology does not exhibit a tendency for output instability due to reflected light. 【Comparison Verification of Output Stability】 ■ Processing ・Seam welding ■ Conditions ・Material: Copper ・Output: 1.3kW ・Speed: 50mm/sec ・Welding: Bead-on penetration none ■ Detection Measurement ・Output monitor ・Reflected light monitor *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Measures against spatter during laser welding

Introducing examples of measures taken against spatter during laser welding!

One of the advantages of pulse YAG laser welding is that it allows for welding with minimal heat impact due to high peak power and short pulses. However, if welding is performed with excessive energy, metal spatter, known as "spatter," can occur due to the compatibility of the metals, gap precision, and material properties. If the causes of spatter generation are understood, certain countermeasures can be implemented. Fundamentally, it is possible that the processing conditions are not appropriate at the time of occurrence. There are various parameters to consider, including the type of laser welding machine, emission unit, optical system of the optical fiber, setting conditions, and shielding gas. Here are some examples of measures taken against spatter. [Examples] - Setting conditions: Optimization of peak power and pulse width - Considering changes in shape, gap precision, and plating type on the workpiece side - Optimization of optical system specifications - Installation of air nozzles, assist gas, and air knives *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Hand torch type fiber laser welding machine "UW-SH series"

Equipped with a swing function! It solves the problem of fiber laser welding machines with beam diameters that are too thin and difficult to use.

1. Solving the challenge of a narrow beam diameter that makes it difficult to use with the swing function. The fiber laser welding machine, which is becoming mainstream due to its higher oscillation efficiency compared to YAG laser welding machines, overcomes the disadvantage of a narrow beam diameter with the "swing function." 2. Achieving reasonable prices by leveraging the strengths of a top-class specialized manufacturer in China. The 500W class handheld fiber laser welding machine utilizes the scale advantages of being a top-class precision welding machine manufacturer in China, priced at 9.8 million yen (excluding tax, transportation costs, and local adjustment fees) for the same class. *Additionally, a 200-volt AC power supply, an appropriate installation location, and an inert gas cylinder are required. ■ Achieving excellent performance and functionality that surpasses TIG and arc welding, useful in various fields! 1. Fine adjustments of welding width and cross-sectional shape are possible. 2. Easier welding of gaps between workpieces. This addresses the disadvantage of fiber laser welding, which is difficult for welding gaps. 3. Suppressing spatter (sparks that scatter during welding) and achieving stable penetration depth. We have cleared the functions and performance that were challenges for both conventional YAG welding machines and fiber laser welding machines, realizing welding functions and performance that greatly exceed those of TIG and arc welding.
